Cooling fan continually switches on and off
When the unit get warm (i.e. the sun shines), our 3.6 inverter continually cycles its cooling fan over about a 10 second period.
i.e. on...speeds up for 7 seconds to reach max speed, and switches off and slows down. Slows down for about 3 seconds, and then speeds up again. The period or fan speed don't seem to change with temperature or power throughput.
And the case and heatsink seem to be running hot (i.e. 51degC @ 1.5kW)
Is this normal?

Seeing I have had zero response from technical support, I have decided that having the heatsink at 60degC and a fan continually switching on and off was not doing the longevity of the equipment any good.
So I am experimenting with a couple of 12V computer fans on top of the heatsink to cool things down.
They work extremely well. The heatsink drops from 60degC to a much more safe 30degC and the internal fan doesn't come on at all (so far).
I have used some spare 12v 120mm fans which dont quite fit onto the heatsinks properly, so I am going to get some 80mm quiet running fans controlled by a thermostat to see if they do the job.
(P.S. what is the point of having a Technical Support forum when you get no effing answer from Technical Support at all?)
