Inverter timer settings

New set-up with 8kW inverter panels and battery. I've watched the video and read the manuals, but not clear on timer settings. Someone's probably done this before:

  • Don't want battery to discharge to house load during early hours (01.00 to 08.00 when grid is cheap)

  • Don't want battery to charge from grid in same period (expect solar charging later).

  • Or, perhaps, don't allow grid to charge battery unless SOC < 50%

Suggestions please.

Just a thought. Do you have a good export rate? If its more than you off peak import rate, you might be better charging your batteries so they're full and all solar is exported for profit. Also, now we're coming to winter months you might find there not enough sun to fill your batteries and cover consumption during the day. You're better using the stored cheap elecy in the day than risking your batteries running out and needing to use peak rate.
