Earthing Guide
Recently I have installed a 12kw grid tie solar plant with two sunsynk 5kw connected in parallel to feed my home and export excess energy to the grid in a single phase. Here in my country earthing is not considered very important as no one from our local electric company asked while installing the net meter about earthing but yet i want to do as it is a good practice. I have some questions if Keith or anyone could answer.
1. Here at my place water level is about 50 feet from ground. Is it good to go deep near water level for earthing in the sand which has water. How deep should earth pit be?
2. What about neutral to earth bond in my situation while feeding to the grid or this bond is only for off grid situations. I want this because if neutral from the transformer breaks ,and other phase from someone's house return into my neutral and energize my neutral as this happens often.
3. If I use one earthing for neutral bond and separate earthing for ac side. Is neutral to earth bond safe in grid tie.
4. Can I check earth resistance using a simple multimeter?
5. Sunsynk inverter body should be earth with DC earthing side or AC earthing side.

Our inverter must be earthed if not you risk electrocution , if you have no earth point you can use a standard earth rod speak with your electrical wholesaler Neural bond depends upon up circuit RCDs You can check between live and earth you should see full phase voltage, if your not a licensed electrical engineer I strongly recommend you seek help from a qualified electrical engineer remember AC and DC power if wired incorrectly can kill you or cause a fire
