Effect of CAN cable not connected to battery
Recently I came across 2 installations where the CAN cable had been omitted between the Sunsynk inverter and battery.
I am aware that the the cable carries information such as cell voltages and battery temperatures.
What are the immediate/long term effects of omitting the cable on available capacity and life of the battery?

A BMS worth it's salt should protect the battery against all dangers. Thus over charging, temperature, individual cell failures and so on. Some batteries may not have BMS communication to the inverter/charger thus if set up manually with the correct voltage and current limits, should see the battery functioning safely and damage free. However having BMS communication to an inverter is ideal.
