1 String or 2?
Hi. My installation is going in this week, with 11 x JA Solar 385W panels and a Sunsynk Hybrid 16A single phase inverter and 5.12 kW Sunsynk battery.
By default the installer would put all 11 panels as a single string, but I am questioning if that is optimal, as the inverter has 2 x MPPT controllers, and I assume that his proposed arrangement would use only one of them.
He has accepted that there is a choice to be made here since it could be split as 6 and 5 panels on separate strings (or indeed any other split as they will physically be laid out with 7 portrait and 4 landscape).
I have no shading issue with trees. Panels will be facing 30 degrees E of South. Latitude 55 % (Edinburgh).
Experience of friends is that inverters don't last as long as the panels so would it be beneficial to run both the controllers to ease the load on them or will the reduction of voltage be a poor trade off against reliability?
Grateful for any input from those experienced in these things!
Andrew.

I assume you have used both MPPT controllers then one for each of your strings?
