12volt power supply in 5kw sunsynk inverter?

Hi folks. I have just bought my 5kw inverter and 5.3kwh battery which is currently setup and running. I will be installing 8x 565w pv panels in a few days time, which should be plenty for my power needs.

Seeing as my inverter has no cooling fan, only an enormous heating at the back, I still have concerns of the inverter getting too hot when I have a high power usage. I have printed a cage for two 120mm pc fans to be mounted to the underside of the heatsink and provide a bit of extra cooling to the unit. I have read that some folk are getting tempretures above 60deg. To me that feels way to high. I was looking to see if there was a 12v power supply on the rail that the CT connects to, but it seems not.

I am wondering if anyone has done a similar thing and how have you powered your fans. Or is the inverter having high tempretures nothing to worry about.

Some inverters like the 8.8kW inverter do have a 12volt supply available, but the 5kW inverter does not. If you were to add the fans you would also need to get a temperature controller that will turn on the fans at the desired temperature so it is quite possible you will need a power source for this and this can double to supply power to the fans.

While the ambient temperature is recommended to be between -40~60ºC to ensure optimal operation, The heat sink will get much hotter.

However, there is no harm in adding some fans if you are concerned.
