Surprise access by Sunsynk to my inverter, unauthorised reset
I'm keen to know how comfortable others are with Synsynk having totally unfettered access to their inverters. I've just recently had two experiences which have left me questioning this. 1. I contacted tech support to find out how I could switch off the low battery alarm when I needed to. (The damn thing is worse than an air raid siren!) Instead of telling me how to turn it off he said, hang on, and the next thing my power went off for about a minute and came back on with the alarm sounding and waking up the family (even though the battery was at about 80%). He then asked me if the alarm is off now! I said, no it had come on for no reason. Then it was another case of "hold on" and the power going off without any warning. Fortunately the PC I was using is also on a UPS so I didn't lose him and was able to confirm that the alarm was then off again. I asked him if he'd been accessing my inverter. He said yes. I then still had to press him on how to turn the alarm off via the app when I needed to, and he couldn't tell me. The heading he mentioned on the website enabled me to eventually find it for myself. But here's the worst part of it all: he had, in the process, reset my inverter! I would have to call the battery supplier and the installer to get it set up correctly again. When I complained to him about that he told me it needed a firmware update. That led to the second bad experience: 2. The firmware update I requested came over a week later and without any notice. It meant our power went down unexpectedly again, this time during a working day. I'll spare you that sad tale. Personally, I'd rather have some control over if and when Sunsynk accesses my inverter.

Thank you J
