An installer is pushing me towards the 3.6kw hybrid inverter pointing out that it can manage 7kw DC (and doesn't need to wait for DNO permission).

Presumable this means that if I'm running higher power items (7kw charger, heatpump, aircon, etc) it would need help from the grid to run.

• If in future I needed more would a parallel configuration give it to me, is it as simple as 3.6+3.6 = 7.2kw?

• Would I need to ask the DNO first?

• Is 8kw + 3.6kw going to work together or do they need to match in some way?
