Rekeying vs replacing locks — what’s better after moving into a new place in Kingston?
Just moved into a rental near Gardiners Road, and now I’m debating whether to replace all the locks or just rekey them. The landlord says rekeying is enough, but I keep thinking maybe someone still has old copies. Has anyone here actually done it through a local locksmith?

When I bought my condo, I had the same thought. I ended up calling a guy I found through Locksmiths in Kingston, ON. He came over, rekeyed three locks in less than an hour, and it cost way less than buying new ones. They explained that rekeying basically changes the inside pins, so old keys stop working. If the locks are in good condition, that’s definitely the way to go.
