How to use excess solar to charge batteries

Hi,

I am sure this should be fairly obvious, but I am struggling and my installer is not being much help.

I would like to configure my setup to use the solar to power the load and any excess solar to recharge the batteries if necessary. (if solar is too low - or load to high, then use the grid to top up, but obviously, don't charge the batteries)

Is there any guidance about how to do this?

We have a 5K-SG01LP1 inverter, 5k batteries and 5kW of panels.

The batteries are used during load shedding, but currently they are immediately charged when the grid comes back.

Kind regards

Mark

Not really - look at the weather, and then decide if i need to keep the battery fully charged. Loadshedding is anything between 2 hours and 3.5 hours long. Schedule is constantly changing so you cannot plan ahead. Get between 1 and 3 episodes per day. Usually they 'try' to keep them 14 hours apart, i.e. progressive and 2 per day, until another power station abruptly breaks down.
