Battery only Configuration
Hi All,
I am after some advice!
I am complete newbie to this, just had 3.6kw inverter adn 2x 5.3 batteries installed. Planning on solar if I can make roof space work but for now its just batteries.
My choice of octopus tarrifs was essentially Flex/Eco7 or Agile, thought I would try agile so here goes.
I have the system configured for Agile and it is charging and discarging as per the live pricing at the prices I have set; however I am a bit confused.
I set my charge until price at 21.5p and my discharge price at 21.6p, I figured if I am not charging I want to be using my stored energy right?????
But for most of the day today the price was fairly low and below my "charge until proce of 21.5p" and so the battery was maintaining 100% all day and my house running off the grid at a cost to me.
I really cannot see or understand the best way to configure this for a battery only system, what am I missing?
Right now I think I may end up with too much stored energy and not using it all.
Am I missunderstanding the intent?
Should I be considering 3 modes
1 Charge when really cheap
2 Use an pay for grid energy when mid priced
3 Use stored energy when energy pikes and is high
I figured I would be either charging + using when low load (night or afternnon) or discharging
Please help.
Thanks
