Wind and solar can also complement one another as renewable energy sources. Solar generation relies on daylight and suitable weather conditions, while a wind turbine can generate whenever there is sufficient wind. For sites where the conditions are right, incorporating both technologies can provide additional opportunities to generate renewable electricity at different times. As with any wind energy installation, the location and local wind conditions are important, and the complete system needs to be designed around compatible equipment and the requirements of the site.

During his visit, Keith went behind the scenes at Kestrel's South African facility to see the wind turbine manufacturing process and find out more about the development of its Sunsynk-compatible technology.
