Battery rotation from Winter to Summer
I am thinking of installing a second battery using my 3.6Kwh Ecco invertor and 3.2Kwh solar array.
Although I live in a sunny SouthWest England (house faces due south!!) we do not get enough sunshine in the winter, and haven't done so far this winter, to charge the batter completely every day. Would it be ok to install a second battery to harness the full power during the summer and then turn off the slave battery during the winter months???
Your thoughts would be appreciated as this is an expensive investment and I would like to get it right.

Thank you so much for your reply. This all makes perfect sense. So if I am right, if I leave the current as is, and the batteries effectively share this evenly (or however it’s shared) would this mean that when the batteries get to the 30% that I’ve set for the current battery to start to charge from the grid, it will take twice as long to get to a desired SOC. Currently my battery lasts until 3 or 4am when it then trickle charges from the grid until we get a solar input.
