System Mode screen, not enough slots?

My apologies if this is stating the obvious… perhaps I was being a bit dense, but this was a revelation to me!

It has been said on this forum and elsewhere that the System Mode screen may not work as expected if the table does not start at 00:00. Certainly, some people have had unexpected results when this is the case.

After some experimentation on my 8k inverter, I believe that it is a bit more subtle than that and, in some situations, you can effectively gain an extra "line" (or, to put it another way, not waste a line).

The rule that you must follow is that the Start Times must be in strictly ascending order (but the first time does not have to be 00:00). Between midnight and the first Start Time your system will remain in the mode that it was in just before midnight.

For most people, this will make no difference but, in some cases, you can effectively gain an extra line. This can be helpful for complicated schedules.

The Stop Time column is just the Start Time column shifted by one slot. The system does not use the stop times per se. You can ignore them and just look at the start times.

And, of course, you must tick “Use Timer” for the table to take effect at all.

Of course, it is impossible to be 100% sure of this behaviour without inspecting the code, but you may find it worth experimenting if you are short of timeslots in your application.

(NOTE: If this does not make any sense to you, just continue to follow the "you must start and end at 00:00" rule and it will work as expected)

Agree with this, mine is the same pretty much.

If you adjust with the app you only get start time for each period to adjust, it sets end time as start of the next period.
