Charging batteries in winter

Hi to you all .

im about to add another solar array to the farm in the form of 16kw of solar panels using two 8kw sunsynk inverters. As I’m based in the uk

charging the batteries in winter is something I’m thinking about and thought I’d ask for help. Now currently I have a 6 kw wind turbine and 6 kw of panels . In winter the solar side of it won’t charge them up much ( I have 75kw storage in batteries 1550ah) as I don’t wish to export to the grid or buy from it if I can help it . I was wondering if I could use the wind turbine which has a grid tied 6kw sma windy boy inverter on it .? I’m guessing tying in a battery charger to the ac lead from the turbine inverter to the house would work but draw power to run from the grid when the turbine isn’t generating which I wouldn’t want . on my system I have a power diverted linked in with two power drivers , 1 going to the heater in a water cylinder and 1 going to a room storage heater first call on available power to the water first then the heater . The diverter works by two ct links one on the grid meter power coming in and one on the live power cable coming from renewable sources turbine and solar . I was thinking of instead of the storage heater been powered could I run the ac cable into the sunsykn inverter ? And into which port ? The Power driver to the storage heater is 4kw rated ( but it’s how much the turbine would be generating at the time ) that’s my idea would it work .

Idea 2 the power from the power driver going to the storage heater is sent to a 50amp battery charger which is then wired to the battery system busbar so ; the battery charger I have in mind charges the batteries to 62.8volts would this affect how the sunsykn inverters read battery status

thanks roger

Hi, this is a complex system that I can't work out in my head how it works, but my gut feelinig is you need to decide 'what' is running the power of your house. ie normally its the GRID and you now have PV, Wind & Batt all with various inverters but something needs to be the 'master'.

8kW ecco inverters have a Wind Turbine input.

Any diverters / connectors are going to be difficult to syncronise

I would look to see if having a master inverter?
