No RCD protection for inverter
I have noticed that my installer has coupled my PV system to the mains using service blocks. These have been fitted between the meter and my original consumer unit which has an RCD. The service connection blocks then feed a new smaller consumer unit which has a surge protection device and 2 breakers. One for the surge protection and one for the inverter. But no RCD protection.
Is this standard? I thought that an RCD would be a regulatory requirement.
Thanks

There's no requirement under UK regs for an RCD to a fixed appliance where the cable is surface mounted or appropriately mechanically protected?
