Calculating 'lost' PV power
I have a 8kW SunSynk Inverter, 7.2 kW of batteries, and 24 PV panels (approx 9.2kW). I do not currently have a smart meter so I have 'zero-export' set and solar export is turned off. So when the batteries are at 100% and there is still good sunshine the Energy Generation graph shows the PV output mirroring the load which means the inverter is not using some of the PV output and would be exporting if it were possible - all of which is normal operation. My question - Is there a way (possibly using the custom graphs) of working out how much PV energy is being lost i.e. does the inverter keep track of the energy being generated even though it is not using it.
Thanks.

It can't damage the meter or inverter.
The only reason why you are told not to do it is because as you have noticed can make it spin in reverse and that would mean you would pay less for your electricity, but there is no risk of damaging anything.
