Newbie question: battery 🔋
Hey Sunsynk friends, we have a 8kw inverter and two 5kw batteries.
Q1 - Is there a way to have both batteries charge at the same time? Seems like it's set up to charge at a max 2kw and we have missed out on charging fully during the day. So must be charging one battery then the other.
Q2. It says the depth of discharge is 100% but the installer has set low battery to 35% and it switches to grid after that. So... Cant we charge it to 100% and run it down to 5%? Feels like we're not using the battery fully.
Anyone can help would be great to know!

I get 15p for each kWh exported, so it is not a complete loss. I aim to export "as little as possible within reason" but my gut feeling is that seeking to export zero does not make sense when every cycle of each battery (effectively) costs money. Also, £2000 invested today in a boring, safe bank account would generate hundreds of pounds over ten years (or whatever the life of the battery turns out to be).
Another reason to wait until summer before considering more batteries is that, even with my heat pump and no gas supply, I think my 5.6kWp array will potentially already generate a bit more than I can use for three months over summer. Storing solar power to use is one thing, storing it to export it makes less sense to me. We switched to Octopus Cosy from a fixed 33p at the same time as installing the solar panels. Time shifting usage to cheap rate is saving us a significant chunk. The batteries I have are adequate for that.
