inverter exporting battery to non essential

hi

i have noticed that my inverter is exporting battery to non essential when solar is not sufficient to cover the complete load.

i understood that solar will supply non essential with any unused power and then use the grid to power the remaining non essential load if needed but never battery?

the installed CT clamp seems to be working fine, the system mode is set to Limited to Home.

When we have loadshedding the non essential circuit is dead as i expect it to be.

i don't have any other issues with the system.

has anyone experienced a similar issue?

5Kw Sunsynk inverter

2x 5.32Kw Sunsynk batteries

10x 555w Jinko panels

*i did change the energy pattern setting from priority batt to priority load just now. will test if that makes a difference.

thanks

I have two questions related to this post of Rudolf and the example that Leon Malan posted.

My settings are the same as Rudolfs and all works well, except that my nonessential load (six Geysers 4KW/geyser) is exceeding the capacity of my setup, and i need advice on my Grid Peak Shaving settings.

2x 8Kw Synsynk Inverters

4x 5Kw Volta Batteries

24x 540w Pannels

The installer set the Grid Peak- shaving to 8000w under Advanced Settings. Limiting the grid load to 8000w. You will notice on the load graph that the grid load will not exceed this limit.

Questio one: I would like to know if the Grid Peak- shaving can be increased say to 12Kw during the day time on this setup?

I would prefer to reduce the high discharge on the Batteries, and is willing to rather utilise the PV and grid instead of stressing the batteries.

Question 2: What power should my PV setup deliver?

What PV power should 24x540w panels generate during normal sunny weather. (12.96Kw less 10% for lost which would allow at least 11.66Kw?

My current PV peak for July is ± 9,4Kw which is only 80% of the PV potential.

My highest measure since the installation end January 2023, was for a very shot spike of 10.39Kw (measured 13 February)

Are there any settings that might limit the PV from its full potential? Any other advice will be appreciated. I have even washed the panels and that did not make a huge difference as it was only slightly dusty.

Your assitance will be highly appreciated.

Regards Werner
