Import KWh higher on electricity bill than on app/inverter

The system has been running for almost a full year and I’ve noticed that the electricity import (kWh) on the Sunsynk inverter/app never match up to what my meter / monthly bill indicates.

Previously the app consistently showed 2/3 of what the actual import was.

But this month the app says I’ve imported 7.3 kWh but my electricity meter (smart meter) shows 25.44 kWh so far.

The entire house (incl. geyser, stove) runs off the inverter and batteries.

Only needed the ~20watts an hour to show that the grid is indeed still there.

Is this mismatch normal?

If not, what might be the issue?

Your experience may indeed be quite normal depending on EXACTLY how the "whole house" is connected to the inverter................ eg - is your "whole house" connected to the UPS output of the inverter ONLY?

Can you share a diagram please? ............ with particular care about the location of the current clamp (CT)

Geysers and stoves have a power factor of close to 1 IMO (resistive load) so they should not be contributing to any major measurement inaccuracies due to power factor.

Also - can you supply complete system specs - inverter and battery size

Also - looking at your energy balance figures, I reckon there will be at least some of the house load connected directly to the grid after the meter rather than through the inverter...................

If you look at the figures you have at least 25kWh+ energy in the form of PV production that you are not accounting for - typically this can be "used" by "home load" items connected to the grid directly and then positioning the CT properly directly after the "utility electricity meter" while also using a setting like "export PV to home and nothing back via CT"
