3.6 ECCO description

So I've been reading around and testing my own inverter but wanted to clarify some points -

Firstly since the firmware update my array ( which is 6.6kw ) regularly supply's over 5kw.

The inverter being a 3.6kw can only supply 3.6 to the grid to avoid the requirement for G99 and up approval

My battery can only charge at 2.5kw due to the battery specs

So if my batteries full, and I'm producing 5+kW on the array where does / can the extra power go ? Assuming I have a load on my consumers can the inverter supply more than 3.6 For self consumption ? Obviously your not exporting this so wouldn't breech DNO rules ? If you have no load on the system and your batteries are full I assume the inverter just clips the additional PV power supplied ?

I understand you can over spec the array to get more average sun hours in the uk but is that the only benefit

Regards
