Octopus Go now also requires an EV :(

Hello Guys, Have you noticed that Octopus changed the T&Cs of the Octopus Go tariff and now they require you to have an EV in order to switch to it?

This is so annoying as I just got my solar installed not even a month ago and switched to Octopus with the idea of charging my battery during the night and now I can no longer change to the Go tariff. :(

Make hay while you can with EV's and cheap rate charging.

Some 6-8 months ago there was a good BBC Radio4 discussion on implementing EV car road tax (that's just happened) as well as a "smart" method of billing homes for loss in fuel duty. This is applies to home daylight solar charging or overnight cheap tariffs. In the end, everyone will pay fuel duty on kWhrs of charge irrespective of how it got its charge. The car knows where it is and what it is connected to. The actual fuel price will be either free solar or paid overnight tariff. Interesting times ahead.
