Grid Peak Shaving is not actually what it is claimed to be
I have a SUNSYNK-50K-SG01HP3-EU-BM4 and have been trying to setup the grid peak shaving.
Our setup consists of Inverter, PV, Battery, Backup load (UPS) and On-grid home loads.
There are CTs on the grid connection.
I could not get the Grid Peak Shaving (55kW) to work and after much back and forth between the , Sunsynk Support Team (sunsynksupport@sunsynk.com) they clarified that:
"The power calculation for grid peak shaving does not include the power of the household loads, only the battery charging power, the load power of the Load ports & the power of the smart loads.
Our manual will subsequently change this as well."
I cannot find any reference to this in any of the manuals or literature and feel that the Sunsynk claims are very misleading (unless I have missed something)
On the Peak shaving setting it shows "Grid peak-shaving power(1000 ~ 150000W)" and as the 150kW is greater than the inverter power then the implication is that household loads are included in the peak wattage.
Our peak demand charges make up about 30% of our electricity bill and the potential peak saving were a significant portion of the economic justification to go with Sunsynk.
Other then the Peak problem the system works great and I am happy but with a bitter taste

Good to hear.
