8KWatt single phase invertor generator port
We are currently having a dispute. If you connect a generator to the 8KWatt single phase invertor on the generator port must it be a pure sine wafe generator or just a standard generator which is 1 and a half time stronger than the invertor?
Does the invertor clean up the power from the generator on the generator port before providing it to the output and batteries?

I have an 8 kW inverter and a 3.6kW generator. So what I do I make sure the load is not exceeding say 1 kW then I set the generator battery charge amps not to exceed say 1.5kW. This then allow another extra 1 kW should the load increases. Should the load say increase above what the generator can supply the worst that can happen is the generator trips on overload. In this way In an emergency I can charge my battery at a slow rate. Had a blackout for 2 days and no sun, manage to stay up and running by managing the load.
