Deye/Sunsynk teardown
It looks like someone deleted my previous post (so sunsynk staff visits this forum after all).
Dave from EEVblog did a teardown of a deye inverter (who actually make sunsynk inverters) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0_cTg36A2Q and it looks like they are using cheap chinese no-name brand components (even though deye states they are using good western brands). Apparently, early inverters were made out of better components, which would explain why current ones are so bad in so many different ways, while the older ones are passable.

Thanks for posting this. The video is pretty damning as to corner-cutting and deception. Two other things that as a layman I took away from the video: the missing DC blocking capacitor on the secondary circuit (28:57) and then at 36:48: "there's just cables going everywhere and it's a really messy kind of build with things on different boards and things coming back and forth and uh between all the daughter boards and stuff yeah it's a bit of a bit of a dog's breakfast". Dave seemed pretty fair-minded and prepared to give credit where due, so it's pretty disappointing to see this after all the hype.
