Battery charging Voltage settings

Hi everyone - really struggling to understand why it is almost impossible to get a definitive answer from SS directly (surely they should know?!) as to what the following settings should be for a SS 5.32 battery:

Settings in the "Batt charge" page of "Battery Setup":

  1. Float V

  2. Absorption V

  3. Equalization V

  4. Equalization days

  5. Equalization hours

There is also considerable contradictory opinion in forums as to whether "Activate" should be ticked in the "Batt type" page, or whether this is intended only to revive a fully discharged battery...

I understand the charging voltage settings are managed by BMS in the normal course of events, but presumably if there is a loss of BMS comms there should be a fallback - and if there is a charge setting that is too high there could be damage to the battery(ies)?

My installer has not been too much help, and I have a number of open tickets with SS which seem to be too much trouble for them to answer...am I asking too much?

If you set the battery to lithium then none of the settings above are required, those only apply to lead acid.

Activate should be off.

There is no fallback to other settings, it uses last settings it got from the BMS.

BMS will shut down the battery if inverter does something stupid.
