Inverter UPS behaviour
Hi, I’m thinking of installing solar plus batteries plus a Sunsynk inverter(s) in the UK. Can I just check a few things re installation/UPS operation please?
UPS capable install requires you to split MCB into Grid and Essentials. A TT Earth wire and Earth-Neutral relay also need to be fitted.
In a powercut the inverter disconnects from the grid (internal operation along with CT clamp) and continues to power Essentials from batteries and/or solar (does solar still work when off-grid?)
If I attach a generator I assume it will only supply the essentials and the batteries?
Is this mode of operation compliant with UK DNO regulations re islanding?
