Battery intermittently charging from the grid when empty
SunSynk 3.6KW Hybrid inverter
SunSynk 5.1kwh battery
TLDR: why is my battery charging from the grid?
Recently I've noticed that my battery is bouncing around and constantly charging from the grid. It seems to get up to 16%, then try and use some of that power for the house, then it looks like it might be dropping down either to or just below 15% and trying to charge itself back up again from the grid. Doesn't this defeat the point of having the battery? If it's going to suck energy from the grid and just immediately give it back to me it's costing me money due to the conversion efficiencies. I'd rather if it was empty (15%), just stay at that charge and not try and use it until the sun provided some excess power to fill it up. The settings in my Inverter have no ticks in the grid boxes on the timer page. Saying that, i just went to try and get a screenshot of that and my Inverter has disappeared from the app. Hmm, suspicious
My min SOC is set to 15% (installer recommended) and we've had a few cloudy days up here in the north UK so the battery hasn't had much chance to charge up. As an aside, what I've done in the past is to set it at 30% min charge during the day so it got the chance to charge up a bit then discharge once the sun goes down. This way, in the winter the battery gets a chance to charge up a bit and is not just constantly sat at the very min charge level all the time. It had started to brighten up a bit here so I'd changed this back to 15% as we were getting up to 100% full most days earlier last week so there didn't seem much point. I might change it back being like that.

I see. I have the latest firmware too and don't think it solved the issue I am concerned about. I created a new post specifically for my issue at https://www.sunsynk.org/forum/techical-support/erratic-behaviours-charging-battery-from-grid-while-grid-charge-is-disabled
Please share your experience on that. Thanks.
