Still using alot of grid power with battery and solar available
Hi everyone,
My system is using large amounts of power from the grid whilst the solar panels & batteries are available. My system seems to be using about 60% grid power and 40% solar power during the day 40% and battery in the evenings.
I am hoping its a setting that I can just tick.
Here is the system that i have:
8kva Sunsynk inverter
10-PV pannels dedicated for the system
12.5kva battery
Solar geyser runs on a completely different system
We have adjusted our lifestyle so that we run the poolpump, washing machine, dishwasher etc etc on different time stols during peak sunlight hours.
I have seen my pannels almost generate close to 4000w on their own, I am wondering why then would the inverter use more than 700w of the 1300w from the grid and only 500w from the panels when they can easily handle the load? The panels should be able to hadle that on their own in full sunlight, when there is loadshedding the panels handle everything.

Same thing happens in the evenings, battery is never under 70% SOC and the inverter still uses alot of power from the grid.

My main goal here is to save on electricity.
As mentioned, I am hoping that the problem can be sorted by changing a few settings.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Regards,
Hennie

Thank you flipper.
