Sunsynk 5kw and generator for top-up

Hi I'm considering getting an inverter generator to attach to my Sunsynk 5k inverter. This will mainly be for when load shedding has kicked up high and the batteries have not had a decent chance to charge, cloudy or night etc.

The generator I've been considering is the Ryobi RG-2600i, so only 2200W output, which is more than enough to run the essential load, roughly 1kW to 1.5kW when utility power off, and charge the batteries...

I see in the Battery Setup -> Batt Charge screen you can set the max charge current for the generator, as with the grid charge. 1. would the Sunsynk use the generator power as it would utility power? i.e. use PV for load and utility/gen to top-up load and/or charge batteries? 2. is the gen charge value also used to set the max current drawn from the generator, load and/or charge, thereby not trying to pull more than the generator can supply? (how do I limit the inverter from pulling more than 2200W in total from the generator?) 3. can the generator be run when utility power is on? no real guarantee when utility is restored or just wanting to run the gen for regular use... (think this one is answered here https://www.sunsynk.org/forum/techical-support/sunsynk-generator-simplified)

Anyone from Sunsync reading these forums that can provide some insight/information on this?? I don't want to buy an inverter only to then find out it doesn't work as expected and therefore wasted money...
