Battery Connections

Lots of queries comming up about battery connections and how many cables. When using Sunsynk 5.xx kWH batteries, the Amphenol 5.7mm battery connectors are only rated at 120A. If there is a chance the batteries will be charged or discharged at more than 120A (6kW), then two positive cables and two negative cables will be needed for connection to batteries. By connecting them in a ring format, only single cables will be necessary, battery to battery. I could waffle on and clarify further..............................................but, one single cable, irrespective of size, cannot be used for more then 120A using the 5.6mm Amphenol plug and socket fitted to the batteries.
