Off-peak charging config
Hi. I have a 3.6kw hybrid inverter. I am (well, will be) using Octopus Go (or Go Faster) in the UK. I'd like to configure the inverter to charge the battery during off-peak hours automaticallly.
It looks like it should be possible using the timer feature in the system mode settings. I set this up last night (using the web interface):
- Tick "grid charge" for timer one.
- Use power 3600. This is the most that it will let me put in.
- Set battery SOC 1 to 15%.
What I hoped would happen was at the start of the timer it start charging the battery for the grid. As you probably guessed nothing happened!
I tried some other things like setting SOC 1 to 50% and later 100%. Made no difference.
On the battery page, I tried checking "grid charge". This did seem to start charging the battery. But then it seemed to stop.
What I'd like to do is charge the battery during off-peak until it reaches an SOC which I choose. The idea is to charge the battery during off-peak enough to run the house of a combination of battery charge and whatever solar I get in the following day.
I realise that without writing some code it would be a manual process to set the configuration to charge just enough to cover the following day. That's OK - but my first goal is successfully configure it to start charging during off-peak and charge to a figure I set.
If anyone knows how to do this correctly please, please please let me know! :)
Thanks. Glenn

Thanks Steve. I’ve set my system up to your configuration today. Hopefully, the smart meter will reflect a reduction in grid usage
