Fuse/Breaker advice please .... 3.6Kw ECCO & 15kw battery

Fuse size advice please ? 3.6Kw ECO and 15.5Kwh Fogstar battery rack ...

Hi guys,

I've just received the 3.6Kw Ecco with a 15.5Kwh (3 x 5120kw 48v rack batteries in a rack) arriving in January.

Each 5Kw battery has its own 125a breaker. The 3 batteries will be connected to a bus bar in the rack and then Pos and Neg directly to the 3.6Kw ECCO. (Only 90amps charge/discharge current)

Which fuse/breaker should I go for please ?

A) Don't need ANOTHER fuse/breaker as each battery protected

B) Another 125a maybe T-Class fuse between the rack and Inverter

C) A DC breaker ?

D) A higher amp/breaker that takes account of the available draw of maybe 300A (from all 3 batteries in parallel)

Thank you for any guidance. Once you know - You know - and seen so many different opinions.

Thanks guys

People are correct. As @mcssolarelectrical explains will meet your requirements.

The instantaneous current that can occur in the case of a short circuit can be very large values and a circuit breaker or a fuse will need to handle this current. If the AIC current rating is to low, the nature of DC current is that it will sustain an arc and will cause strange thing to happen.

The main thing is that you use an appropriated/approved DC rated circuit breaker or fuse.

Sunsynk suggest using a 150A DC rated circuit breaker or fuse.
