Trying to charge batteries during Octopus Power Hour
I have a 3.6kw hybrid inverter and 2x 5.1kwh sunsynk batteries.
My batteries are set to charge every night in the off peak time so I can sell any extra sunlight I generate during the day. This has worked for years. I have timer 1 set to grid charge to 100% between 2:00 - 5:30
Yesterday we had a power hour. I wanted to achieve 2 things. Charge the car (in other words use max electricity while it's free) and keep the battery from discharging. I'm sure in the past I've been able to set Timer 4 between 14:00 - 15:00 and turn on grid charge for that slot setting the charge rate to 100%. This means the inverter tries to charge and keep that batteries up at that level, rather than draining them to any house load, in this case the car.
For some reason yesterday this wasn't working. I was still using 2+kw from my batteries. Am I missing something? I'm sure this has worked in the past?
