3rd much smaller array
I am waiting for my new install. I have ordered an 8.8kw inverter and 22 430w panels. 11 for the east facing roof and 11 for the west. I am just waiting for my G99.
I have been thinking about adding a few, perhaps 4, more panels on a south facing gable end wall.
I haven't seen anyone else fit panels to a wall. Is there any good reason why not? Obviously it's not the ideal angle for year round production but I am thinking it would help production in the winter when the sun is so low and my east/west panels are only getting glancing rays from the sun.
If it is worth doing how could the extra panels be connected to the inverter? Would they simply go into the auxiliary port?
Would the extra panels add to and thus exceed my maximum DC voltage input of 10800W? Or is that maximum value just for the 2 strings going into the MPPT ports?
Apologies for sounding like a complete and utter newb but I am.
Thanks
If it's the same as sunsynk batteries, 1x 5kWh battery will only let you pull ~2.5kW to feed the house loads (even if you set the inverter to draw 90A), and the average kettle needs 3.6kW.
Mine did this until I bought a 2nd battery, now works fine
