Off Grid Set up
Hi All,
I am looking for some help with setting up my pair of 5.5kW ECCO inverters. The plan is to be grid independent, however, living in Northern England makes the winter a bit problematic with just solar. I was hoping to add wind turbines as well but have not found any suitable so far. This means I will be partially reliant on the grid during the winter.
Currently my system is working fine with the grid supply switched off, however, when I connect the grid supply it defaults to using the grid supply instead of the batteries.
The attached diagram shows the circuitry, ignore the wind bit, not in place yet. There is a single consumer unit only.
The inverters are set up to not buy from the grid, however, it does not achieve that. I think I may have a connectivity issue. The handbook states the 'grid' connection on the inverter is for supply and demand, with the 'load' connection for the emergency or non-stop circuits. As you can see from my diagram my consumer unit, grid supply, load and grid connections are all in a Henley block. I could not get the system to work in any other configuration. So, if I turn on the grid isolator the grid supply flows straight to the consumer unit, ignoring the inverters.
I also noted that there is no flow from the inverters along the 'grid' connection, it is all from the 'load'. I have meters installed to measure the flow.

My thinking is that I should have the grid supply connected only to the inverters, and the load only connected to the consumer unit? Or, have I missed some settings that resolve the issue?
I attach a pdf file of the diagram as well.
Many thanks for any help offered.
Regards
Kevin

Thanks Groots, I will look into what you commented on.
