battery system now costing me money
over the last few days the battery system we have has now started to charge the batteries off the grid ( something which has happened before but went away) and is costing me money not saving it, the weather has been poor for several weeks now (typical English December weather) we don't have a smart meter installed and don't want one, i'm thinking of turning the system off for a few weeks till the weather improves as it struggles to fill the batteries to 50% even on a good day... after spending 13k on a system that is costing me more to run our home seems strange.

Apologies - did not word it very well. You are correct that it will charge the battery if there is sufficient PV, but it will only discharge if the grid is lost providing power to the Load port.
