Setting an 8K Ecco to G98 and Charge / Discharge rates
Hi. I have a fairly awkward DNO engineer on one of my projects.
I wanted to connect a 10kWp Solar array to an 8k ecco inverter with 3 x 5.32kw batteries. We aren't really interested in exporting so I am happy to set the export at zero, and the client is a fairly heavy user (active farm) so chomps through electricity pretty well especially in summer during harvest months. The DNO is insisting I can only connect g98 equipment without adding 20k in costs for them to replace a transformer. My questions are:
If I set the 8k inverter to run in g98 mode, does this limit the output from the inverter to 3.68 absolutely?
Say for instance we were generating 6kW does the g98 setting prevent the inverter feeding the 6kw directly to local loads. Is the most it could do is feed us with 3.68kw and then use the remaining 2.32kw to charge batteries?
What about when the batteries are fully charged, the PV is off (night time) and the client is using greater than 3.68kW? will the inverter only discharge the batteries at 3.68Kw and the rest have to come from the grid?
If the answer to all of the above is yes then running in this mode is only going to increase the import and export to the grid over just setting an export limit to zero or even 3.68kW and I will attempt to explain this to the DNO engineer.
Many thanks

That's just what I'm coming round to thinking. I will keep digging. There is another supply (different MPAN) on the farm so perhaps I just utilise that a bit.
