Increased electric use since fitting

Hi all,

Im new to this so answers in as plain speech as possible please!

I have a Sunsynk 3.6kw inverter and 5.32kw battery that has just been installed a couple of weeks ago in the UK.

This is with 14x 385w panels spread across east, south and west facing roofs.

Prior to fitting this, our background usage was around 80w without freezers etc being on.

Since fitting however, I never see my in home display say anything lower than at least 170w (usually more like 250+). This is when there is no solar, and energy is being drawn from the grid, OR even when there is solar from panels or battery and the inverter display shows what the house is using. Demand for house load seems to have increased a lot since fitting this.

As an example. from 00:00 to 06:00 my usage used to be around 0.9kw give or take. This has now almost doubled!

I understand that the inverter will use some power but at this time of year, this system seems to be costing more than it is saving!

The system is set to priority load, zero export and uses the timer function for battery usage.

Due to the holidays, I'm waiting for the fitters tech support to come back to me but as this is costing money I'm also looking for a quicker solution!

At the moment, I'm regretting going down the solar route and am hoping this isn't normal but have no idea what difference changing the settings will do.

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

I'm also noticing an increase since 8kW inverter and 3 x 5.12 batteries installed just before Xmas. PV to follow next month.

System is set just to top up batteries and drain down on timers until PV goes in. No export.

Base consumption before install was 140 Watts but has now risen to 210 Watts.
