Shoto Battery communication
Good Evening
I have installed a SUNSYNK-8K-SG01LP1 inverter with two Shoto SDC10-BOX 5 Batteries. How do I connect the communication cables?
Old post - I have the following Shoto batteries connected to my Sunsynk 8.8kw inverter. How do I connect my 4 batteries to the inverter so that I get BMS information?

In some documentation Sunsynk do indicate that they support a SDC-Box5(5.12KWH) using CAN bus for comms.
Do you have a link to the manual for this particular model?
If there is a specs label can you post a picture?
My gut feeling is that this battery has a RS@#@ port to manage the matter and use the RS485 port to parallel the battery comms. I does not/cannot communicate with the inverter.
This does not mean you cannot use this battery. You would connect as an unmanaged battery in the same way as if it was a lead acid battery. It just means you would have to manual set all the parameters on the inverter to deal with charge and discharge currents, charge and float voltages, etc. It will not use the SOC % values. The battery type would be 'AGM V'
I had to do this for a client who was using some very early Pylontech 2.5KW batteries and it works fine. You just have to make sure you get the parameters correct.
You could contact Shoto to get confirmation.
