Power Outage

We recently had a power cut on our Grid feed. As the same happened last year, a fault on the neutral feed which fried our Solar Inverter and panels leading to a £11k+ cost replacement with Sunsync, I contacted our supplier.

Still no response from same. Luckilythe power cut was only a couple of hours in the evening and no damage occurred.

I have 2 questions; why didn't our battery kick in so we at least had some power?

Is there anything I need to do in a power cut to protect my system?

It can be configured as backup, but wiring needs to be changed, you can't just backfeed the consumer unit as it would then back feed into the grid and that is dangerous, you need a changeover switch and additional wiring to go with it.

I was talking about solar equipment supplier, not electricity supplier, while neutral fault can cause significant damage to the inverter (you can end up with full phase to phase vol

tage instead of normal 230V), solar panels should have been ok, and inverter should have been the only thing that needed replacing.

Do you happen to have a copy of the report that you could share.
