Adding another battery
Hi everyone
I have a 5kw battery already and a 4kw array. How complicated is it to add an additional battery? Is this something I could do myself? They are only £1600 at the moment and I'm quite handy. Alternatively do I need an electrician to install it and register relative document, if so which ones?? Any help much appreciated

Depending on how handy you are, you could actually get a 14.3 KW Seplos battery kit from Fogstar UK for around £2400 and assemble it yourself to replace your existing battery .... Then sell your existing battery and recoup some of the £2400 to offset the cost, but you will end up with a higher battery capacity. I have a Seplos 280L @14.3kw, that I assembled myself, coupled to my Sunsynk 5kw ECCO and can confirm it works perfectly well and communicates via the can bus. Assembly took me about 3 hours because I took my time but in reality it should have taken about an hour. The longest part of the process was top balancing the cells before assembly. It took well over a week!
