ups socket
i have added a ups socket to a installation through a earth neutral relay, but when the grid power gets switched off the rcd within the socket trips is this normal and does it have to be a rcd socket?

Does the socket trip without anything plugged into it? It may be the RCD socket is designed to trip if there is an interruption to the supply. There will be a drop as the relay in the inverter switches over from the grid.
