Optimizing space in small apartments using retractable TV lift systems
I’m trying to make my tiny apartment feel a bit less cramped, and someone suggested using a retractable TV lift so the screen disappears when I’m not watching anything. I’m pretty tempted because my TV takes up half of the wall right now, and I’d love to reclaim that space. Has anyone here actually installed one in a small room? I’m curious how much it really helps and whether it’s worth the hassle to set up in such a tight area.

I live in a studio, so I totally get the struggle. I put my TV on a lift inside a narrow cabinet at the foot of my bed, and it made the room feel way less cluttered. I remember checking out motorized tv lift https://www.progressiveautomations.com/collections/tv-lifts when I was figuring out how the mechanism works, mostly to make sure the lift would actually fit inside the furniture I had in mind. The biggest improvement was just having the TV disappear so I’m not staring at a black rectangle all day. Installation wasn’t bad either—just make sure you measure absolutely everything before buying.
