My dongle did the same when my inverter was new. I used to unscrew and remove it, and plug it in the next day. This usually got it working, but a couple of times i had to restart the entire system - batteries and inverter. Months later it started playing up again but would work if i wriggled it. I took it off and removed the rubber washer from its base and since then it has given me no problems. I also had wifi connection problems (despite relatively good wifi signal on a signal meter), but when this was the problem there was still one light showing on the dongle. I cured this by putting a wifi booster right next to the inverter.
