% SoC based Auto start generator connected to GRID
Hi there
I understand that with the generator connected to the Aux port, it's possible to charge from grid, and if grid is down for example and the batteries deplete further , auto switch on the generator at the specified SoC then charge from the generator. That would work well on a single inverter.
Charge from grid and charge from generator are configurable independently.
If we have the generator AND grid both coming into the Grid port, and want to achieve the same outcome,
That is : Charge from solar and then charge from grid as far as possible. Eg Batteries below 70%, charge from grid.
If grid is not available, and batteries run down further to 30% for example, then ONLY switch on the generator automatically.
Is this possible with 'grid signal' setting ? Is grid signal a dry contact signal just like the gen signal?
We DON'T want the generator to switch on every time the batteries reach 70%.
We want the actual grid to charge the batteries at that point.
Only if the batteries reach 30 % due to no pv and no grid then the signal should go out and switch on the generator.
Is this possible? How would the inverter distinguish between grid and inverter if both are coming in through one port.
If the generator is connected to grid, then at the grid charge specified % in the timer etc, is it gonna switch on the generator??
Thank you!
