Do I need a 3.6 Kw or a 5.5 eco inverter.
I have 3.8 worth of solar panels and an sma inverter. I want a hybrid inverter to feed a battery store.
Do I need a 3.6 Kw or a 5.5 eco inverter. I need the batteries to feed a 17Kw Grant air source heat pump
and help with the rest of the house supply. Can I use Pylontech 5000 batteries and would three of these be enough or overkill.

Yeah, you're probably right that you could fill more than one battery on a good day. Maybe 2 or even three but if your house/heatpump are using it before it even gets to the battery, you'll be relying on that off peak rate a lot. Especially in the months of Nov-Mar.
I personally wish I'd gone with a bigger inverter but didn't want to deal with the additional paperwork. More future proof. Could take more advantage of my bigger array. I'm very happy with what I have but you can always have more. My next step is getting another 5.1kwh battery to add to mine to make a total of 10.2kwh.
