Master inverter appears down after power outage.

I have two 5kW ECCO inverters and I’m using solar assistant rather than Sunsynk Connect connected to the serial port of each inverter.

This weekend I have had several power outages and noticed that when grid power returns SA is not reporting any inverter data. The front panel on the master inverter is off and all 4 green LEDs are off. Clicking any of the front panel buttons does nothing. The slave inverter has the front display and all 4 status lights are green.

The first time I noticed this I used the isolators to remove grid power and then turned back on. As soon as power was returned this way the master was up and all 4 leds showing normal operation.

After the next grid failure the same thing happened, the slave was up but the master appeared to be down. This time I removed the Solar assist serial cable and as plugged the Sunsynk wifi dongle in. As soon as the dongle was inserted into the master inverter the display came on and all LEDs went green.

I cannot reproduce the fault by removing grid power with the isolator.

I don’t know when the master inverter appears to stop working as I only looked when power was restored noticing the monitoring was not responding. It could have happened when the grid was lost, when it returned or sometime between.

I’ve no idea if this is an inverter or Solar assist problem, but I’d like to understand what is happening.

Any ideas anyone?
