DNO export restrictions
I am in the process of installing a solar panel system - my installer has come back and said that the DNO requires a smaller inverter (down from an 8k to a 5k). This means that I will have to downsize the system as there will be too many panels for a 5k inverter. I haven't seen the DNO, but is it possible to configure the 8k inverter such that the maximum export to the grid is only 5k? Or can that only be achieved by using a smaller inverter? Would there be any other reason why the DNO would mandate a smaller overall system rather than a configuration limitation? Thanks!
