Generator not used to capacity
Hi, I have a off-grid solar setup. On cloudy days I use a 6.5kva generator to assist.
My question is. Why is the inverter only using 1300W - 1800W from the generator?
I would like it to use at least 80% of the generators ability in order to charge the batteries faster.
I'm already paying for the fuel, I would like to get as much power as I can.
The generator is connected to the auxiliary input on the inverter.
Any advise would be appreciated.

You have the generator connected and working already so it would seem that all you need to do is to tell the inverter and battery to allow the generator to charge the battery at the rate you think you can manage in the battery settings.
So what is the contents of your battery setup page at this stage?
Keep in mind that ANY LOAD on you inverter is FIRST serviced by the generator and thus ONLY the extra the generator can produce on top of that will be used to charge the batteries AT MOST.
So if you have a max load of say 2kW during the time the generator is helping you out, you need to substract THAT from the max possible battery charge ability you envisage ...................... in addition to keeping possibly a 20% saftey margin on the generator - iow at max you will tax the generator to about 4500W only
